History of Mulberry Silk

As legend has it, the wife of Emperor Leizu was having tea in the imperial gardens when she noticed some silkworms eating mulberry leaves and spinning cocoons.  One of these cocoons fell into her tea and unravelled.  She noticed that the cocoon was made of fibres that had remarkable softness and strength.  She soon had a whole grove of mulberry trees and mulberry silk was first produced.
